FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION


  1. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE

      *1 Airbag Connector
      *2 Airbag Connector Lock

      Connect the 2 airbag connectors of the No. 2 instrument panel wire to the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly.

      Note


      • When connecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

      • Be sure to only connect the connectors to each corresponding color.

    2. Push in the 2 airbag connector locks to install the 2 airbag connectors to the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly.

    3. Engage the clamp.

  2. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY


    1. Engage the 3 hooks.

    2. Push in the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly to engage the 3 hooks.

    3. Install the 2 screws to install the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly.

    4. Engage the 2 clamps.

  3. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD ASSEMBLY


    1. Engage the 4 guides and temporarily install the instrument panel safety pad assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Note


      • Do not damage the instrument panel safety pad assembly.

      • Do not allow the wire harnesses to interfere with the surrounding parts.

    2. Install the 3 clips.

    3. Install the 5 bolts <C> and nut <F>.

    4. Install the 2 bolts <A>.

      Torque:
      20 N*m  { 204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }
    5. Engage the 2 claws to connect the cooler (room temp. sensor) thermistor.

    6. Engage the claw and each clamp.

    7. Connect each connector.

  4. CONNECT NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE


    1. Check that the engine switch is off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      Connect the connector.

      Note

      When connecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
