AUDIO AND VISUAL SYSTEM (w/ Multi-display) Speaker Circuit

DESCRIPTION

If there is a short in a speaker circuit, the stereo component amplifier assembly detects the short and stops output to the speakers.

Thus sound cannot be heard from the speakers even if there is no malfunction in the stereo component amplifier assembly or speakers.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR


    1. Disconnect the H99 stereo component amplifier assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the H63 and H62 front No. 2 speaker assembly connectors.

    3. Disconnect the L6 and M5 front No. 1 speaker assembly connectors.

    4. Disconnect the J2 front No. 3 speaker assembly connector.

    5. Disconnect the N6 and O6 rear speaker assembly connectors.

    6. Disconnect the Q16 stereo component speaker assembly connector.

    7. Measure the resistance between each of the front No. 2 speaker assemblies and the stereo component amplifier assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.

      Standard Resistance

      H99-13 (FR+) - H63-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      H99-28 (FR-) - H63-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      H99-12 (FL+) - H62-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      H99-27 (FL-) - H62-1 Always Below 1 Ω
    8. Measure the resistance between each of the front No. 1 speaker assemblies and the stereo component amplifier assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H99-5 (WFR+) - L6-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      H99-20 (WFR-) - L6-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      H99-4 (WFL+) - M5-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      H99-19 (WFL-) - M5-2 Always Below 1 Ω
    9. Measure the resistance between the front No. 3 speaker assembly and the stereo component amplifier assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H99-7 (CTR+) - J2-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      H99-22 (CTR-) - J2-1 Always Below 1 Ω
    10. Measure the resistance between each of the rear speaker assemblies and the stereo component amplifier assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.

      H99-15 (RR+) - N6-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      H99-30 (RR-) - N6-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      H99-14 (RL+) - O6-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      H99-29 (RL-) - O6-2 Always Below 1 Ω
    11. Measure the resistance between the stereo component speaker assembly and the stereo component amplifier assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.

      Standard Resistance

      H99-6 (WF1+) - Q16-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      H99-21 (WF1-) - Q16-2 Always Below 1 Ω
    12. Measure the resistance between the stereo component amplifier assembly and body ground to check for a short circuit in the wire harness.

      H99-28 (FR-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      H99-5 (WFR+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      H99-20 (WFR-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
