AUDIO AND VISUAL SYSTEM Switch Lights of Remote Touch do not Illuminate

DESCRIPTION

Power is supplied to the remote operation board illumination when the light control switch is in the tail or head position.

Tech Tips

Only the "AUDIO", "MENU" and return switches on the remote operation board illuminate.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ILLUMINATION SIGNAL)


    1. Disconnect the H95 remote operation board connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H95-1 (ILL+) - Body ground Light control switch in tail or head position 11 to 14 V

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REMOTE OPERATION BOARD - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the H95 remote operation board connector.

    2. Disconnect the H14 combination meter assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H95-8 (ILL-) - H14-39 (ILL-) Always Below 1 Ω
      H95-8 (ILL-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

  3. REPLACE REMOTE OPERATION BOARD


    1. Replace the remote operation board with a new or known good one Click here.

    2. Check if the switch illumination turns on.

      OK
      The switch illumination turns on when the light control switch is in the tail or head position.
