PARK / NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH REMOVAL


  1. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL

      Remove the 9 clips and cool air intake duct seal.

  2. REMOVE INLET NO. 2 AIR CLEANER

      Disconnect the 2 wire harness clamps and vacuum hose clamp.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and inlet No. 2 air cleaner.

  3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the mass air flow meter connector and wire harness clamp.

    2. A01G6Q3

      Disconnect the 3 hoses.

    3. Disconnect the ventilation hose from the air cleaner cap sub-assembly.

      Loosen the hose clamp and separate the air cleaner cap sub-assembly from the throttle with motor body assembly.

    5. Release the 2 clamps and remove the air cleaner cap sub-assembly.

  4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY

  5. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the 3 wire harness clamps, connector, vacuum hose and No. 1 fuel vapor feed hose.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and air cleaner case sub-assembly.

  6. SEPARATE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY


    1. Move the shift lever to N.

      Disconnect the wire harness clamp.

      Remove the clip and nut, and disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the No. 1 transmission control cable bracket and control shaft lever.

  7. REMOVE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. Disconnect the connector from the park/neutral position switch assembly.

      Remove the nut, washer and control shaft lever from the manual valve lever shaft.

      Remove the 2 bolts and park/neutral position switch assembly from the manual valve lever shaft.

      Note

      Before removing the park/neutral position switch assembly, remove any foreign matter or rust on the installation portion of the manual valve lever shaft. Be sure to remove the switch straight along the shaft while being careful not to deform the plate spring that supports the shaft. If the plate spring is deformed, the park/neutral position switch assembly cannot be reinstalled correctly.
