DESCRIPTION

In the dynamic radar cruise control system, the ECM and the driving support ECU assembly communicate with one another to control the system based on some designation information. If the designation information of the ECM and driving support ECU assembly is different or the driving support ECU assembly is malfunctioning, this DTC is stored.

P1617 While the dynamic radar cruise control is either preparing for operation or operating, if a designation signal from the ECM and a designation return signal from the driving support ECU assembly do not match or the driving support ECU assembly is malfunctioning for more than a specific amount of time, the ECM stores this DTC.

  1. REPLACE DRIVING SUPPORT ECU ASSEMBLY

  2. CHECK FOR DTCs (DTC P1617)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    4. Perform the following to make sure that the DTC detection conditions are met.

      Tech Tips

      If the detection conditions are not met, the malfunction cannot be detected.


      1. Drive the vehicle at a speed for which cruise control operation is possible.

      2. Turn the dynamic radar cruise control system on using the cruise control switch (ON-OFF button).

    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Cruise Control / Trouble Codes.

    6. Check for DTCs Click here.
