DESCRIPTION

If a malfunction (a rapid change in vehicle speed) in the vehicle speed signal being output from the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) is detected while the cruise control is controlling vehicle speed, the ECM determines that there is a momentary interruption or noise, and stores a DTC.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

This DTC may be output by the vehicle stability control system at the same time. In that case, perform troubleshooting for the vehicle stability control system first.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK FOR DTCs (ABS/VSC/TRC)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRC / Trouble Codes.

    5. Check for DTCs.

    6. Turn the engine switch off.

  3. CHECK FOR DTCs (DTC P0503)


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Perform the following to make sure that the DTC detection conditions are met.

      Tech Tips

      If the detection conditions are not met, the malfunction cannot be detected.


      1. Drive the vehicle at a speed for which cruise control operation is possible.

      2. Turn the cruise control system on using the cruise control switch (ON-OFF button).

      3. Push the cruise control switch to -/SET to begin control of vehicle speed using the cruise control system.

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Cruise Control / Trouble Codes.

    4. Check for DTCs Click here.
