INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD INSTALLATION


  1. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD ASSEMBLY


    1. Engage the 4 guides and temporarily install the instrument panel safety pad assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Note


      • Do not damage the instrument panel safety pad assembly.

      • Do not allow the wire harnesses to interfere with the surrounding parts.

    2. Install the 3 clips.

    3. Install the 5 bolts <C> and nut <F>.

    4. Install the 2 bolts <A>.

      Torque:
      20 N*m  { 204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }

    5. Engage the 2 claws to connect the cooler (room temp. sensor) thermistor.

    6. Engage the claw and each clamp.

    7. Connect each connector.

  2. CONNECT NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE


    1. Check that the engine switch is off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      Connect the connector.

      Note

      When connecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

  3. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Engage the 8 claws to install the instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly.

  4. INSTALL NO. 1 ION GENERATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Ion Generator)

      Connect the ion generator assembly as shown in the illustration.

    2. Install the ion generator assembly with the 3 screws.

    3. Connect the connector.

    4. Engage the clamp.

  5. INSTALL FRONT NO. 3 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY


    1. Connect the connector.

    2. Install the front No. 3 speaker assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Note

      Do not touch the speaker cone.

  6. INSTALL NO. 1 SPEAKER OPENING COVER ASSEMBLY

      Engage the 2 claws and 4 clips to install the No. 1 speaker opening cover assembly as shown in the illustration.

  7. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for LH Side)


    1. Connect the connector.

    2. Install the front No. 2 speaker assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Note

      Do not touch the speaker cone.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  8. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Engage the 3 guides as shown in the illustration.

    2. Engage the 2 clips to install the No. 1 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

  9. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH


    1. Remove the protective cover.

    2. Make sure that the front pillar garnish clip is not damaged.

      Note

      If there is any damage, replace the garnish clip with a new one.

      Install the front pillar garnish clip to the front pillar garnish LH.

      Tech Tips

      Install the front pillar garnish clip as shown in the illustration.

    4. Engage the 2 guides as shown in the illustration.

      Engage the 2 clips to install the front pillar garnish LH.

  10. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for RH Side)

  11. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

  13. INSTALL NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY


    1. Engage the 4 claws, 2 clips and 2 guides to install the No. 3 instrument panel register assembly.

  14. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Connect each connector.

      Engage the 5 claws as shown in the illustration.

    3. Install the 2 screws <E>.

      Open the lower instrument panel sub-assembly door as shown in the illustration.

    5. Install the lower instrument panel sub-assembly with the 3 screws <E>.

  15. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX DOOR COVER

      Engage the 4 claws to install the instrument panel box door cover as shown in the illustration.

      Close the lower instrument panel sub-assembly door as shown in the illustration.

  16. INSTALL LOWER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY


    1. Check that the engine switch is off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      Connect the airbag connector to the lower No. 2 instrument panel airbag assembly.

      Note

      When connecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

    4. Push in the airbag connector lock to install the airbag connector.

    5. Engage the 5 claws and 2 guides to temporarily install the lower No. 2 instrument panel airbag assembly.

    6. Install the 3 bolts.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Confirm that the lower No. 2 instrument panel airbag assembly is installed securely without any excessive gaps and is not protruding outward.

  17. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Connect the connector.

      2. Engage the 4 claws to install the switch base.

    1. Engage the 6 claws and 2 guides to install the No. 1 instrument panel register assembly.

  28. INSTALL NO. 1 SWITCH HOLE BASE


    1. Connect each connector.

    2. Engage the 4 claws to install the No. 1 switch hole base.

  29. INSTALL COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY


    1. Connect the 2 connectors.

    2. Engage the 2 clips.

    3. Install the combination meter assembly with the 2 screws.

  30. INSTALL LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL


    1. for LHD:


      1. Connect each connector and engage each clamp.

      2. Engage the 12 claws, 2 clips and guide.

      3. Install the lower No. 1 instrument panel finish panel with the 2 bolts <B>.

    2. for RHD:


      1. Connect each connector and engage each clamp.

      2. Engage the 6 claws, 3 clips and guide.

      3. Install the lower No. 1 instrument panel finish panel with the 2 bolts <B>.

  31. CONNECT HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Engage the claw and 2 guides to connect the hood lock control lever sub-assembly.

    2. Engage the 3 claws to install the front door opening trim cover LH.

  34. INSTALL COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH


    1. Engage the clip and claw.

    2. Install the cowl side trim board LH with the clip.

  35. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH


    1. Engage the 10 claws to install the front door scuff plate LH.

  36. INSTALL RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET (w/o Multi-display)


    1. Connect each connector.

    2. Engage the 2 clips and 2 claws to temporarily install the radio receiver assembly with bracket.

    3. Install the radio receiver assembly with bracket with the 4 bolts.

  37. INSTALL MULTI-MEDIA MODULE RECEIVER ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET (w/ Multi-display)


    1. Connect each connector.

    2. Engage the 2 clips and 2 claws to the vehicle body to temporarily install the multi-media module receiver assembly with bracket.

    3. Install the multi-media module receiver assembly with bracket with the 4 bolts.

  38. INSTALL LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL

      Engage the 2 claws and 5 clips to install the lower center instrument panel finish panel as shown in the illustration.

  39. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY


    1. Connect the connector.

    2. Engage the 11 claws and clip to install the No. 2 instrument panel register assembly.

      When installing the No. 2 instrument panel register assembly, check that the wire harness is not caught between the No. 2 instrument panel register assembly and duct.

  40. INSTALL CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH


    1. Connect the connector.

    2. Engage the 10 claws and 2 clips to install the center instrument cluster finish panel garnish.

  42. INSTALL TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Note


    • Do not replace the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly with the battery connected and the engine switch on (IG).

    • Do not rotate the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly without the steering wheel with the battery connected and the engine switch on (IG).

    • Ensure that the steering wheel is installed and aligned straight when inspecting the steering sensor.


    1. Engage the 3 claws to install the turn signal switch assembly with spiral cable sub-assembly to the steering post assembly.

    2. Connect the connectors to the turn signal switch assembly with spiral cable sub-assembly.

  43. INSTALL UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER


    1. Engage the 2 claws to install the upper steering column cover.

    2. Engage the 4 clips and 2 guides to the upper steering column cover.

  44. INSTALL LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER (for Manual Tilt and Manual Telescopic Steering Column)

      Torque:
