FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY REASSEMBLY

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  • The following procedure is for the LH side.


  1. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Engage the 2 guides to install the front seatback frame sub-assembly to the front seat adjuster assembly.

    2. Install the 4 bolts.

      Torque:
      42 N*m  { 428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }

  2. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK HOOK


    1. Install the 2 front seatback hooks to the lumbar support adjuster assembly.

  3. INSTALL LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY


    1. Engage the 2 guides to install the lumbar support adjuster assembly.

    2. Engage the 4 claws.

    3. Connect each connector and engage each clamp to the lumbar support adjuster assembly.

  4. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK EDGE PROTECTOR


    1. Engage each claw to install the 2 front seatback edge protectors.

  5. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SPRING SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Engage each hook to install the front seat cushion spring sub-assembly.

  6. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 SEAT WIRE


    1. Connect each connector and engage each clamp to install the front No. 2 seat wire.

  7. INSTALL FRONT SEAT WIRE


    1. Connect each connector and engage each clamp to install the front seat wire.

  8. INSTALL SEAT HEATER CONTROL SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Seat Heater System)


    1. Engage the claw to install the seat heater control sub-assembly.

  9. INSTALL SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL BLOWER (w/ Climate Control Seat System)


    1. Temporarily install the seat climate control blower to the front seat cushion spring sub-assembly.

      Close the 2 brackets as shown in the illustration to install the seat climate control blower.

    3. Install the 2 screws.

    4. Connect the connector.

  10. INSTALL SEAT CUSHION CLIMATE CONTROL DUCT (w/ Climate Control Seat System)


    1. Engage the 2 claws to install the seat cushion climate control duct to the seat climate control blower.

  11. INSTALL SEATBACK CLIMATE CONTROL DUCT (w/ Climate Control Seat System)


    1. Engage the 2 claws to install the seatback climate control duct to the seatback climate control blower.

  12. INSTALL SEATBACK CLIMATE CONTROL BLOWER (w/ Climate Control Seat System)


    1. Install the seatback climate control blower with the 4 screws.

    2. Connect the connector.

  13. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER LH


    1. Engage the 3 claws to install the reclining adjuster inside cover LH.

    2. Install the screw.

  14. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER RH

    Tech Tips

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  15. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION EDGE PROTECTOR LH


    1. Engage the 2 guides to install the front seat cushion edge protector LH.

  16. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION EDGE PROTECTOR RH

    Tech Tips

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  17. INSTALL FRONT SEAT LOWER CUSHION SHIELD LH

      Engage the clip to install the front seat lower cushion shield LH.

    2. Engage the hook as shown in the illustration.

    3. Install the screw.

  18. INSTALL FRONT SEAT LOWER CUSHION SHIELD RH

      Engage the clip to install the front seat lower cushion shield RH.

    2. Engage the hook as shown in the illustration.

    3. Install the screw.

  19. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER


    1. A01G91F

      Using hog ring pliers, install the separate type front seatback cover to the separate type front seatback pad with 14 new hog rings.

      Note


      • Be careful not to damage the separate type front seatback cover.

      • When installing the hog rings, take care to minimize wrinkles as much as possible.

  20. INSTALL FRONT SEAT AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

    CAUTION:


    • The nuts must not be reused.

    • Make sure that the front seatback frame sub-assembly is not deformed. If it is, replace it with a new one.


    1. Install the front seat airbag assembly with 2 new nuts.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }

    2. Engage the 2 clamps.

  21. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD


    1. Temporarily install the separate type front seatback cover with pad.

    2. Engage each claw to install the 2 front seat headrest supports.

    3. Install the 3 brackets with the 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }

      CAUTION:


      • For vehicles with a front seat airbag assembly, the separate type front seatback cover must be securely installed. Otherwise, the front seat airbag assembly may not deploy properly.

      • Make sure that the strap is not twisted after installing the nut.

      • Install the brackets securely.

    4. A01G5BV

      Using hog ring pliers, install 2 new hog rings.

      Note


      • Be careful not to damage the separate type front seatback cover.

      • When installing the hog rings, take care to minimize wrinkles as much as possible.

    5. Engage each hook.

      Using hog ring pliers, install 2 new hog rings.

      Note


      • Be careful not to damage the separate type front seatback cover.

      • When installing the hog rings, take care to minimize wrinkles as much as possible.

    7. Engage the claw and 2 clamps to install the front seat airbag assembly wire harness.

  22. INSTALL SEATBACK CLIMATE CONTROL COVER (w/ Climate Control Seat System)


    1. Install the seatback climate control cover with the 4 screws.

  23. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Engage the 2 hooks to install the front seatback board sub-assembly.

    2. Install the 2 screws.

  24. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER


    1. A01G8K8

      Using hog ring pliers, install the separate type front seat cushion cover to the separate type front seat cushion pad with 16 new hog rings.

      Note


      • Be careful not to damage the separate type front seat cushion cover.

      • When installing the hog rings, take care to minimize wrinkles as much as possible.

      Using hog ring pliers, install 2 new hog rings.

      Note


      • Be careful not to damage the separate type front seat cushion cover.

      • When installing the hog rings, take care to minimize wrinkles as much as possible.

  25. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER WITH PAD (w/o Variable Seat Cushion System)


    1. Temporarily install the separate type front seat cushion cover with pad.

    2. Engage each hook.

    3. Install the 4 clips.

    4. w/ Climate Control Seat System:


      1. Engage the 3 claws to install the seat cushion climate control duct to the separate type front seat cushion pad.

    5. w/o Seat Heater System:


      1. Engage the 2 clamps.

    6. w/ Seat Heater System:


      1. Connect the 2 connectors.

      2. Engage the 3 clamps.

      3. Connect the connector.

  26. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER WITH PAD (w/ Variable Seat Cushion System)


    1. Temporarily install the separate type front seat cushion cover with pad.

    2. Engage each hook.

    3. Install the 4 clips.

      Using hog ring pliers, install 3 new hog rings.

      Note


      • Be careful not to damage the separate type front seat cushion cover.

      • When installing the hog rings, take care to minimize wrinkles as much as possible.

    5. Install the 4 clips.

    6. Engage the 4 hooks.

    7. Install the 2 clips.

    8. w/ Climate Control Seat System:


      1. Engage the 3 claws to install the seat cushion climate control duct to the separate type front seat cushion pad.

    9. w/o Seat Heater System:


      1. Engage the 2 clamps.

    10. w/ Seat Heater System:


      1. Connect the 2 connectors.

      2. Engage the 3 clamps.

      3. Connect the connector.

  27. INSTALL FRONT LOWER SEAT CUSHION SHIELD


    1. Engage the clip to install the front lower seat cushion shield.

    2. Install the screw.

  28. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD


    1. Engage the 3 claws and 5 guides to install the front seat cushion shield.

    2. Install the 2 screws.

  29. INSTALL FRONT LUMBAR POWER SEAT SWITCH


    1. Engage the 4 claws to install the front lumbar power seat switch to the front power adjuster shield.

  30. INSTALL FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH (w/o Seat Position Memory System)


    1. Install the front power seat switch to the front power adjuster shield with the 3 screws.

  31. INSTALL FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH (w/ Seat Position Memory System)


    1. Install the front power seat switch to the front power adjuster shield with the 3 screws.

  32. INSTALL SEAT VARIABLE CUSHION SWITCH (w/ Variable Seat Cushion System)


    1. Install the seat variable cushion switch to the front power adjuster shield LH with the 2 screws.

  33. INSTALL RECLINING POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB


    1. Engage the 4 claws to install the reclining power seat switch knob.

  34. INSTALL SLIDE AND VERTICAL POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB


    1. Engage the 4 claws to install the slide and vertical power seat switch knob.

  35. INSTALL FRONT POWER ADJUSTER SHIELD


    1. Connect the connector to the front lumbar power seat switch.

    2. w/o Seat Position Memory System:


      1. Connect the connector to the front power seat switch.

    3. w/ Seat Position Memory System:


      1. Connect the 2 connectors to the front power seat switch.

    4. w/ Variable Seat Cushion System:


      1. Connect the connector to the seat variable cushion switch.

    5. Engage the 2 claws to install the front power adjuster shield.

    6. Install the 2 screws.

  36. INSTALL FRONT INNER NO. 1 SEAT CUSHION SHIELD


    1. Engage the 2 claws and 2 clips to install the front inner No. 1 seat cushion shield.

    2. Install the 2 screws.

  37. INSTALL SEAT ADJUSTER COVER CAP


    1. Install the 2 seat adjuster cover caps.

  38. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY (for Driver Side)

      Install the front seat inner belt assembly with the nut.

      Torque:
      42 N*m  { 428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Do not allow the anchor part of the front seat inner belt assembly to overlap the protruding part of the front seat adjuster.

    2. Engage the clamp.

    3. Connect the connector.

    4. Engage each clamp under the front seat assembly.

  39. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY (for Front Passenger Side)

      Install the front seat inner belt assembly with the nut.

      Torque:
      42 N*m  { 428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Do not allow the anchor part of the front seat inner belt assembly to overlap the protruding part of the front seat adjuster.

    2. Engage the clamp.

    3. Engage each clamp under the front seat assembly.

  40. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER CUSHION SHIELD


    1. Engage the 3 claws and 4 guides to install the front seat inner cushion shield.

    2. Install the screw.

    3. Install the clip.

  41. INSTALL NO. 1 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY (w/ Foot Light)


    1. Engage the 2 claws to install the No. 1 interior illumination light assembly to the rear lower front seatback cover.

    2. Engage the claw to install the rear lower front seatback cover.

  42. CONNECT FRONT SEATBACK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/o Foot Light)


    1. Connect the rubber band of the front seatback board sub-assembly to the front seat adjuster assembly.

  43. CONNECT FRONT SEATBACK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Foot Light)


    1. for Driver Side:


      1. Connect the connector.

      2. Engage the 2 clamps.

    2. for Front Passenger Side:


      1. Connect the connector.

      2. Engage the clamp.

    3. Engage the 2 fasteners.

    4. Connect the rubber band of the front seatback board sub-assembly to the front seat adjuster assembly.

  44. INSTALL POWER SEAT SWITCH ASSEMBLY (for Front Passenger Side with Power Seat Switch Assembly)


    1. Connect the connector to the power seat switch assembly.

    2. Engage the 2 claws to install the power seat switch assembly to the front seat assembly RH.

  45. INSTALL SEAT POSITION AIRBAG SENSOR (for Driver Side)

      Engage the pin to install the seat position airbag sensor to the seat slide position sensor protector as shown in the illustration.

      *a 1.3 mm (0.0512 in.)

      Using a 1.3 mm (0.0512 in.) feeler gauge, temporarily install the seat position airbag sensor with the "TORX" bolt.

      Note


      • If the seat position airbag sensor has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case or connector, replace the seat position airbag sensor with a new one.

      • When installing the seat position airbag sensor, be careful that the SRS wiring does not interfere with or is pinched between other parts.

    3. Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, tighten the "TORX" bolt.

      Torque:
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }

    4. Make sure that the clearance between the seat position airbag sensor and seat rail is 1.3 mm (0.0512 in.).

    5. Connect the connector.

    6. Check that there is no looseness in the installed parts of the seat position airbag sensor.
