After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
Note
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.
REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT
Remove the luggage compartment floor mat.
REMOVE SPARE WHEEL COVER PAD LH
Remove the spare wheel cover pad LH.
REMOVE SPARE WHEEL COVER PAD RH
Remove the spare wheel cover pad RH.
REMOVE LUGGAGE HOLD BELT STRIKER ASSEMBLY (for Rear Side)
Remove the 2 bolts.
Disengage the 2 guides and remove the 2 luggage hold belt striker assemblies.
REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE
Using a clip remover, remove the 3 clips.
Disengage the 4 clips and remove the rear floor finish plate.
REMOVE LUGGAGE HOLD BELT STRIKER ASSEMBLY (for LH Side)
Remove the bolt.
Disengage the guide and remove the luggage hold belt striker assembly.
REMOVE ROPE HOOK (for LH Side)
Disengage the 2 claws and remove the rope hook as shown in the illustration.
REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT INNER TRIM COVER LH
Using a clip remover, remove the 3 clips.
Disengage the 2 fasteners and remove the luggage compartment inner trim cover LH.
REMOVE FUEL PUMP CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
Disconnect the connector and clamp from the fuel pump control ECU assembly.
Remove the 2 nuts and fuel pump control ECU assembly.
Note
Do not reuse the fuel pump control ECU assembly if it has been dropped or subjected to a severe impact.
Tech Tips
If a malfunction such as pump lock occurs and the fuel pump is damaged, excessive current may be continuously applied to the fuel pump control ECU assembly, damaging its internal parts. Make sure to replace the fuel pump control ECU assembly at the same time when replacing the fuel pump with filter assembly.
