PRECAUTION
Note
After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.
DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
Note
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.
REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY

Disengage the 2 hooks <A> on the front side of the rear seat cushion assembly from the vehicle body as shown in the illustration.

Note
Follow the instructions below carefully as the cushion frame can be deformed easily.
Choose a hook to disengage first. Place your hands near the hook as shown in the illustration. Then lift the rear seat cushion to disengage the hook.
Repeat the step above for the other hook.
Disengage the 2 hooks <B> on the rear side of rear seat cushion assembly from the rear seatback hinge hook.

Remove the buckle of the rear seat inner with center belt assembly LH and buckle of the rear seat inner with center belt assembly RH from the rear seat cushion assembly.
w/ Climate Control Seat System:
Disconnect the rear seat heater connector.
Remove the rear seat cushion assembly.
Note
Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
REMOVE REAR FLOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER
Remove the rear floor service hole cover.
Disconnect the fuel pump connector.
DISCONNECT FUEL TANK MAIN TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

Remove the tube joint clip, and pull out the fuel tube joint of the fuel tank main tube sub-assembly.
Note
Remove any dirt or foreign matter on the fuel tube joint before performing this work.
Do not allow any scratches or foreign matter to get on the parts when disconnecting them as the fuel tube joint has an O-ring that seals the pipe.
Only disconnect the fuel tube joint by hand.
Do not forcibly bend, twist or turn the fuel tank main tube sub-assembly.
Protect the disconnected part by covering it with a plastic bag after disconnecting the fuel tube joint.
If the fuel tube joint and fuel suction plate sub-assembly are stuck, push and pull to release them.
DISCONNECT FUEL EMISSION HOSE
Loosen the clip and disconnect the fuel emission hose from the fuel suction tube with pump and gauge assembly.
DISCONNECT NO. 2 CHARCOAL CANISTER OUTLET HOSE
Loosen the clip and disconnect the No. 2 charcoal canister outlet hose from the fuel suction tube with pump and gauge assembly.
REMOVE FUEL TANK VENT TUBE SET PLATE
Remove the 8 bolts and fuel tank vent tube set plate.
REMOVE FUEL SUCTION TUBE WITH PUMP AND GAUGE ASSEMBLY

Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, pull the retainer to disengage the lock claws and pull out the fuel cut-off tube.
Remove the fuel suction tube with pump and gauge assembly from the fuel tank sub-assembly.
Note
Make sure that the fuel sender gauge arm does not bend.
Do not damage the tube and fuel pump harness.
Remove the fuel suction tube set gasket from the fuel suction tube with pump and gauge assembly.
