ECM REMOVAL

Tech Tips

When removing only the ECM, it is not necessary to remove the cool air intake duct seal and battery.


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  3. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL

      Remove the 9 clips and cool air intake duct seal.

  4. REMOVE BATTERY

      Loosen the nut, and disconnect the cable from the positive (+) battery terminal.

    2. Loosen the nut, and remove the bolt and battery clamp.

    3. Remove the battery and battery tray.

  5. REMOVE ECM

      Disconnect the 2 ECM connectors.


      1. Push in the locks on the 2 levers, raise the levers, and disconnect the 2 ECM connectors.

        Note

        After disconnecting the connectors, make sure that dirt, water or other foreign matter does not contact the connecting part of the connectors.

      Remove the nut.

    3. Remove the screw (A).

    4. Loosen the screw (B) and remove the ECM.

    5. Remove the screw (B).

      Remove the 2 screws and No. 2 ECM bracket.

  6. REMOVE NO. 1 ECM BRACKET

      Remove the nut.

    2. Disconnect the wire harness clamp.

    3. A01G5RY

      Disconnect the wire harness clamp.

      Remove the nut and No. 1 ECM bracket.
