PROCEDURE

    REMOVE WINDSHIELD OUTSIDE MOULDING

      Put protective tape around the windshield outside moulding.

      Disengage the claw.

    3. A0007BT

      Using a moulding remover, disengage the 10 claws.

    4. Disengage the guide and remove the windshield outside moulding.

    REMOVE WINDSHIELD NO. 1 OUTSIDE MOULDING CLIP

    Tip:

    Perform the following procedure only when replacement of a windshield No. 1 outside moulding clip is necessary.


    1. A0006ZK

      Disengage the 5 claws and remove the 5 windshield No. 1 outside moulding clips as shown in the illustration.

    REMOVE WINDSHIELD NO. 3 OUTSIDE MOULDING CLIP

    Tip:

    Perform the following procedure only when replacement of a windshield No. 3 outside moulding clip is necessary.


    1. Remove the windshield glass.

    2. Insert a 4.0 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit into a drill.

      Tape the 4.0 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit 5.0 mm (0.197 in.) from the tip as shown in the illustration.

      Note:

      Tape the 4.0 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit to prevent the drill bit from going too deep.

      Lightly press the drill bit against the No. 3 windshield outside moulding clip to drill off the windshield No. 3 outside moulding clip flanges, and remove the 5 No. 3 windshield outside moulding clips.

      Note:
      • Make sure to protect both the inside and outside of the vehicle as the windshield No. 3 outside moulding clip shavings will fly about.

      • Pressing the drill too firmly will cause the windshield No. 3 outside moulding clip to turn and result in the windshield No. 3 outside moulding clip not being drilled through.

      • Prying the windshield No. 3 outside moulding clips with the drill may damage the windshield No. 3 outside moulding clip installation holes or drill bit.

      • Be careful of the drilled windshield No. 3 outside moulding clips, as they may be hot.

    5. Using a vacuum cleaner, remove the windshield No. 3 outside moulding clip fragments and shavings from the drilled areas.
