    CHECK VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER CONTROLLER

    1. Disconnect the H216 vehicle approaching speaker controller connector.

    2. Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Terminal No. (Symbol) Wiring Color Terminal Description Condition Specified Condition
H216-1 (IG) - Body ground P - Body ground IG power supply Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
Power switch off Below 1 V
      H216-7 (GND) - Body ground W-B - Body ground Ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Reconnect the H216 vehicle approaching speaker controller connector.

    4. Measure the voltage and check for pulses according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Waveform 2

        Item Condition
        Tester Connection H216-6 (SPD) - H216-7 (GND)
        Tool setting 5 V/DIV., 20 ms./DIV.
Vehicle condition Power switch on (IG), wheel being rotated
        Tip:

When the system is functioning normally, one wheel revolution generates 4 pulses. As the vehicle speed increases, the width indicated by (A) in the illustration narrows.
