REAR LIGHT ASSEMBLY INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT REAR LIGHT LENS AND BODY LH

   
   

   1. Remove the rear light lens and body LH.

   2. 

      Text in Illustration

      *a	Component without harness connected (Rear Light Lens and Body LH)

      Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the rear light lens and body LH and check that the lights come on.

      OK
      Condition Specified Condition Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 1 Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 2 The taillight comes on

      If the result is not as specified, repair or replace the rear light lens and body LH.

2. INSPECT REAR LIGHT LENS AND BODY RH

   
   

   1. Remove the rear light lens and body RH.

   2.

      *a	Component without harness connected (Rear Light Lens and Body RH)

      Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the rear light lens and body RH and check that the lights come on.

      OK
      Condition Specified Condition Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 1 Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 2 The taillight comes on

      If the result is not as specified, repair or replace the rear light lens and body RH.

3. INSPECT REAR LIGHT SOCKET AND WIRE LH

   
   

   1. Reconnect the rear light socket and wire LH to the rear light lens and body LH.

   2.

      *a	Component without harness connected (Rear Light Socket and Wire LH)

      Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the rear light socket and wire LH and check that the lights come on.

      OK
      Condition Specified Condition Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 1 (B/U) Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 4 (E) The back-up light comes on Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 2 (B) Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 4 (E) The taillight comes on Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 3 (B) Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 4 (E) The rear fog light comes on

      If the result is not as specified, repair or replace the rear light socket and wire LH.

4. INSPECT REAR LIGHT SOCKET AND WIRE RH

   
   

   1. Reconnect the rear light socket and wire RH to the rear light lens and body RH.

   2.

      *a	Component without harness connected (Rear Light Socket and Wire RH)

      Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the rear light socket and wire RH and check that the lights come on.

      OK
      Condition Specified Condition Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 1 (B/U) Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 4 (E) The back-up light comes on Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 2 (B) Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 4 (E) The taillight comes on Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 3 (B) Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 4 (E) The rear fog light comes on

      If the result is not as specified, repair or replace the rear light socket and wire RH.
