DESCRIPTION

The headlight leveling ECU (headlight swivel ECU assembly) receives a signal from each headlight swivel motor (leveling function) using LIN communication.

If the headlight leveling ECU (headlight swivel ECU assembly) has been replaced, it is necessary to synchronize the vehicle information and initialize the headlight leveling ECU (headlight swivel ECU assembly) (Click here).

PROCEDURE


  1. Click here

    CHECK FOR DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs (Click here).

    2. Check for DTCs (Click here).

      OK
      DTC B2424 and B2425 are not output.

  2. Click here

    CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT LEVELING ECU (HEADLIGHT SWIVEL ECU ASSEMBLY) - HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the A80 headlight leveling ECU (headlight swivel ECU assembly) connector.

    2. Disconnect the A71 headlight assembly LH connector or A76 headlight assembly RH connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A80-30 (LH+) - A71-6 (LHM+) Always Below 1 Ω
      A80-30 (LH+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      A80-11 (RH+) - A76-6 (RHM+) Always Below 1 Ω
      A80-11 (RH+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT UNIT (HEADLIGHT SWIVEL MOTOR (LEVELING FUNCTION))


    1. Replace the headlight unit (headlight swivel motor (leveling function)) with a new or known good one (Click here).

    2. Check for DTCs (Click here).

      DTC B2424 and B2425 are not output.
