LUGGAGE DOOR HINGE TORSION BAR REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note

After installing the torsion bar, use your hand to open and close the luggage door. Make sure the luggage door can open and close smoothly.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSIST GRIP

  2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR COVER

  3. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT


    1. Remove the luggage compartment floor mat.

  4. REMOVE SPARE WHEEL COVER PAD LH


    1. Remove the spare wheel cover pad LH.

  5. REMOVE SPARE WHEEL COVER PAD RH


    1. Remove the spare wheel cover pad RH.

  6. REMOVE LUGGAGE HOLD BELT STRIKER ASSEMBLY (for Rear Side)

      Remove the 2 bolts.

    2. Disengage the 2 guides and remove the 2 luggage hold belt striker assemblies.

  7. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE

      Using a clip remover, remove the 3 clips.

    2. A0003RM

      Disengage the 4 clips and remove the rear floor finish plate.

  8. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FRONT TRIM COVER

      Disengage the 8 fasteners and remove the luggage compartment front trim cover.

  9. REMOVE LUGGAGE HOLD BELT STRIKER ASSEMBLY (for LH Side)

      Remove the bolt.

    2. Disengage the guide and remove the luggage hold belt striker assembly.

  10. REMOVE ROPE HOOK (for LH Side)

      Disengage the 2 claws and remove the rope hook as shown in the illustration.

  11. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT INNER TRIM COVER LH

      Using a clip remover, remove the 3 clips.

    2. Disengage the 2 fasteners and remove the luggage compartment inner trim cover LH.

  12. REMOVE LUGGAGE HOLD BELT STRIKER ASSEMBLY (for RH Side)

      Remove the bolt.

    2. Disengage the guide and remove the luggage hold belt striker assembly.

  13. REMOVE ROPE HOOK (for RH Side)

      Disengage the 2 claws and remove the rope hook as shown in the illustration.

  14. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT INNER TRIM COVER RH (w/o Power Trunk Lid System)

      Using a clip remover, remove the 3 clips.

    2. Disengage the 2 fasteners and remove the luggage compartment inner trim cover RH.

  15. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT INNER TRIM COVER RH (w/ Power Trunk Lid System)

      Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips.

    2. Disengage the 4 fasteners and remove the luggage compartment inner trim cover RH.

      *1 Protective Tape

      Put protective tape around the luggage door hinge.

      Disengage the 2 claws as shown in the illustration.

      Disconnect the luggage door hinge torsion bar LH from the luggage compartment door torsion bar support as shown in the illustration.

      Using SST, disconnect the luggage door hinge torsion bar LH from the luggage door hinge and the left side of the vehicle body as shown in the illustration.

      Remove the luggage door hinge torsion bar LH from the right side of the vehicle body as shown in the illustration.

  21. REMOVE LUGGAGE DOOR HINGE TORSION BAR RH

      Put protective tape around the luggage door hinge.

      Disconnect the luggage door hinge torsion bar RH from the luggage compartment door torsion bar support as shown in the illustration.

      Using SST, disconnect the luggage door hinge torsion bar RH from the luggage door hinge and the right side of the vehicle body as shown in the illustration.

      Remove the luggage door hinge torsion bar RH from the left side of the vehicle body as shown in the illustration.

  22. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR TORSION BAR SUPPORT


    1. A0005X3

      Remove the luggage compartment door torsion bar support as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Make sure to replace the luggage compartment door torsion bar support with a new one.
