POWER TRUNK LID SYSTEM Power Trunk Lid does not Operate

DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) continuously monitors the luggage door opening cancel switch assembly. When the luggage door opening cancel switch assembly is OFF, a luggage door opening switch assembly signal is sent to the luggage closer motor assembly from the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) via CAN communication. This actuates the power trunk opener operation, which opens the luggage compartment door. When the door control switch is on, the luggage closer motor assembly actuates the power trunk closer operation. When the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is held, and the luggage electrical key switch is on or the luggage door open switch on the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly switch is pressed, the luggage closer motor assembly actuates the power trunk lid opener operation.

Note

  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

  • The power trunk lid system uses the CAN communication system. First, confirm that there is no malfunction in the CAN communication system. Refer to the How to Proceed with Troubleshooting procedure (See page )

  • If the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) is replaced, refer to Service Bulletin.
