LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER SYSTEM Luggage Compartment Door Opener does not Operate

DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) continuously receives the luggage door opening cancel switch assembly ON/OFF signal. When the luggage door opening switch assembly is pushed with the luggage door opening cancel switch assembly is off, the luggage compartment door is open.

  • If the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) is replaced, refer to Service Bulletin.

  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / (desired system) / Active Test.

    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.

  2. READ VALUE USING GTS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.

    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.

  4. CHECK MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)


    1. Temporarily replace the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) with a new one.

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - LUGGAGE DOOR OPENING SWITCH ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the H9 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.

    2. Disconnect the H69 luggage door opening switch assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      H69-3 (L) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    1. Disconnect the H9 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.

    2. Disconnect the H74 luggage door opening cancel switch assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  9. INSPECT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY

      Remove the luggage compartment door lock assembly.

    2. Check the operation of the door lock motor.


      1. Move the door lock to the close (lock) position.

      2. Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the door lock motor and check operation of the door lock motor.

    3. Check the operation of the door courtesy switch.

  10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK - MAIN BODY ECU AND INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the U3 luggage compartment door lock assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the H10 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.

    3. Disconnect the 3C instrument panel junction block assembly connector.

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      U3-3 (D+) - H10-19 (LGCY) Always Below 1 Ω
      U3-1(B) - 3C-10 Always Below 1 Ω
      3C-10 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      U3-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      U3-3 (D+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      U3-1 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    1. Temporarily replace the instrument panel junction block assembly with a new or known good one.

    2. Check that the luggage door opener system is normal.
