FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY REMOVAL

CAUTION:


  • Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing Click here.

  • Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the seat frame and adjuster may injure your hands.

  • If the front seat airbag assembly was deployed, replace the front seat airbag assembly, front seatback frame sub-assembly, separate type front seatback cover and separate type front seatback pad with the necessary parts in accordance with the extent of the collision damage Click here.

  • Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY

  2. REMOVE POWER SEAT SWITCH ASSEMBLY (for Front Passenger Side with Power Seat Switch Assembly)

  3. DISCONNECT FRONT SEATBACK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY

    w/o Foot Light: Click here

  4. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER CUSHION SHIELD

    Click here

  5. REMOVE FRONT INNER NO. 1 SEAT CUSHION SHIELD

    Click here

  6. REMOVE FRONT POWER ADJUSTER SHIELD

    Click here

  7. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD

    Click here

  8. DISCONNECT FRONT SEAT AIRBAG ASSEMBLY


    1. w/o Seat Heater System:


      1. A00086W

        Disengage the 2 clamps.

    2. w/ Seat Heater System:


      1. A0006TZ

        Disconnect the connector.

      2. Disengage the 3 clamps.

  9. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY

  10. REMOVE SEATBACK CLIMATE CONTROL COVER (w/ Climate Control Seat System)

  11. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD

  12. REMOVE FRONT SEAT AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

    CAUTION:

    When storing the front seat airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.

      Disengage the 2 clamps.

    2. Remove the 2 nuts and the front seat airbag assembly.

      CAUTION:


      • The nuts must not be reused.

      • Make sure that the front seatback frame sub-assembly is not deformed. If it is, replace it with a new one.
