PROCEDURE

    PRECAUTION

    CAUTION:

    Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing (Click here).

    Note:

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work (Click here).

    REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

    DISCONNECT NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE


    1. Check that the power switch is off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      Slide the slider to release the lock, and then disconnect the connector.

      Note:

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

    REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD ASSEMBLY

    REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

    CAUTION:

    When storing the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.


    1. A0003WJ

      Remove the 2 screws and disengage the 2 clamps.

    2. A0003PS

      Lean the instrument panel safety pad assembly and disengage the 3 hooks.

    3. A0007Y0

      Disengage the 3 hooks to remove the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly from the instrument panel safety pad assembly.

    REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE


    1. A0009Q5E04

      Disengage the clamp.

    2. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, release the 2 airbag connector locks.

    3. Disconnect the 2 airbag connectors to remove the No. 2 instrument panel wire from the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly.

      Note:

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
