DESCRIPTION

The side collision sensor RH circuit (to determine deployment of the front seat airbag assembly RH, rear seat airbag assembly RH and curtain shield airbag assembly RH) is composed of the airbag sensor assembly, side airbag sensor assembly RH and rear airbag sensor RH.

The rear airbag sensor RH detects impacts to the vehicle and sends signals to the airbag sensor assembly to determine if the airbag should be deployed.

DTC B1630/23 is stored when a malfunction is detected in the rear airbag sensor RH.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note:

After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work (Click here).

PROCEDURE


  1. Click here

    CHECK REAR AIRBAG SENSOR RH


    1. A0005EUE03

      Turn the power switch off.

    2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    3. Interchange the rear airbag sensor RH with LH and connect the connectors.

    4. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

    5. Clear the DTCs stored in memory (Click here).

    6. Turn the power switch off.

    7. Turn the power switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.

    8. Check for DTCs (Click here).

      DTC B1635/24 is output. B
      DTCs B1630/23 and B1635/24 are not output. C
      Tip:

      Codes other than DTCs B1630/23 and B1635/24 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

    9. Turn the power switch off.

    10. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    11. Return the rear airbag sensor RH and LH to their original positions and connect the connectors.
