DESCRIPTION


Tip:

The fuel level warning light will come on when the fuel level is below 9.8 liters (10.4 US qts, 8.6 Imp.qts).

PROCEDURE


  1. Click here

    PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (FUEL METER OPERATION)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.

    5. Check the operation by referring to the table below.

      Fuel receiver gauge indication is normal.

    READ VALUE USING GTS (FUEL INPUT)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.

    5. Check the values by referring to the table below.

    CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - FUEL SUCTION TUBE WITH PUMP AND GAUGE ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the H14 combination meter assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the P7 fuel suction tube with pump and gauge assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H14-26 (FR) - P7-2 (FS) Always Below 1 Ω
      H14-26 (FR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      H14-27 (FE) - P7-3 (FE) Always Below 1 Ω
      H14-27 (FE) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    INSPECT FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY


    1. A0008WUE03

      Remove the fuel sender gauge assembly (Click here).

    2. Check that the float moves smoothly between F and E.

    3. Check if the fuel sender gauge arm is deformed.

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Float level is F (upper) 13.5 to 16.5 Ω
      1 - 2 Float level is between F (upper) and E (lower) 13.5 to 414.5 Ω (Gradually changes)
      1 - 2 Float level is E (lower) 405.5 to 414.5 Ω

  5. Click here

    CHECK CONNECTOR


    1. Visually check for deformation on the fuel suction tube with pump and gauge assembly connector.

      OK
      There is no deformation.

      REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (Click here)

      REPLACE FUEL SUCTION TUBE WITH PUMP AND GAUGE ASSEMBLY (Click here)
