PERSONAL LIGHT INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

      Component without harness connected

      (Roof Console Box Assembly)

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      T10-4 (+B1) - T10-5 (+B5) Always Below 1 Ω
      T11-18 (GND9) - T11-20 (GND5) Always Below 1 Ω
      T10-10 (RLMP) - T11-20 (GND5) Always Below 1 Ω
      T10-16 (ILLB) - T11-10 (RILL) Always Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the roof console box assembly.

    2. Inspect the solid-state relay (built into roof console box assembly).


      1. Connect a positive (+) lead from the auxiliary battery to terminal T10-4 (+B1).

      2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Voltage
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        T10-17 (RIFL) - Ground Always Below 1 V
        T11-14 (RIFR) - Ground Always Below 1 V
        T11-15 (+B4) - Ground Always Below 1 V

        If the result is not as specified, replace the roof console box assembly.

      3. Connect a positive (+) lead from the auxiliary battery to terminal T10-4 (+B1) and a negative (-) lead to terminal T10-7 (CILL).

      4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Voltage
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        T10-17 (RIFL) - Ground Always 11 to 14 V
        T11-14 (RIFR) - Ground Always 11 to 14 V
        T11-15 (+B4) - Ground Always 11 to 14 V

        If the result is not as specified, replace the bulb or roof console box assembly.

    3. Inspect the front personal lights.


      1. Connect a positive (+) lead from the auxiliary battery to terminal T10-4 (+B1) and a negative (-) lead to terminal T10-7 (CILL) and T11-20 (GND5).

      2. Check that the front personal lights come on as shown in the table below.

        Condition Specified Condition
        Front personal light switches off Front personal light LH and RH do not come on
        Front personal light switch LH on Personal light LH comes on
        Front personal light switch RH on Personal light RH comes on

        If the result is not as specified, replace the bulb or roof console box assembly.

    4. Inspect the front interior light.


      1. Connect a positive (+) lead from the auxiliary battery to terminal T10-4 (+B1) and a negative (-) lead to terminal T10-7 (CILL) and T10-9 (DOOR).

      2. Check that the front interior light come on as shown in the table below.

        Condition Specified Condition
        Interior door switch off Front interior light do not come on
        Interior door switch on Front interior light comes on

        If the result is not as specified, replace the bulb or roof console box assembly.

      3. Connect a positive (+) lead from the auxiliary battery to terminal T10-4 (+B1) and a negative (-) lead to terminal T10-7 (CILL) and T11-20 (GND5).

      4. Check that the front interior light come on as shown in the table below.

        Interior on/off switch off Front interior light do not come on
        Interior on/off switch on Front interior light comes on

        If the result is not as specified, replace the bulb or roof console box assembly.

    5. Inspect the switch illumination.


      1. Connect a positive (+) lead from the auxiliary battery to terminal T10-16 (ILLB) and a negative (-) lead to terminal T10-8 (LILL).

      2. Check that the switch illumination comes on.

        OK
        Switch illumination comes on.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the roof console box assembly.
