DESCRIPTION

If there is a short in a speaker circuit, the stereo component amplifier assembly detects the short and stops output to the speakers.

Thus sound cannot be heard from the speakers even if there is no malfunction in the stereo component amplifier assembly, telematics transceiver*1 or speakers.

    CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR


    1. Disconnect the H99 stereo component amplifier assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the H63 and H62 front No. 2 speaker assembly connectors.

    3. Disconnect the L6 and M5 front No. 1 speaker assembly connectors.

    4. Disconnect the J2 front No. 3 speaker assembly connector.

    5. Disconnect the O6 and N6 rear speaker assembly connectors.

    6. Disconnect the Q16 stereo component speaker assembly connector.

    7. Disconnect the H101 telematics transceiver connector (w/ Telematics Transceiver).

    8. Measure the resistance between the front No. 2 speaker assembly RH and the stereo component amplifier assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness (w/o Telematics Transceiver).

    9. Measure the resistance between the stereo component amplifier assembly and the telematics transceiver to check for an open circuit in the wire harness (w/ Telematics Transceiver).

    10. Measure the resistance between the front No. 2 speaker assembly RH and the telematics transceiver to check for an open circuit in the wire harness (w/ Telematics Transceiver).

    11. Measure the resistance between the front No. 2 speaker assembly LH and the stereo component amplifier assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.

    12. Measure the resistance between each of the front No. 1 speaker assemblies and the stereo component amplifier assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.

    14. Measure the resistance between each of the rear speaker assemblies and the stereo component amplifier assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.

    15. Measure the resistance between the stereo component speaker assembly and the stereo component amplifier assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.

    5. Disconnect the J2 front No. 3 speaker assembly connector.

    6. Disconnect the N6 and O6 rear speaker assembly connectors.

    7. Disconnect the N7 and O7 rear No. 2 speaker assembly connectors.

    8. Disconnect the Q15 and P32 rear header speaker assembly connectors.

    9. Disconnect the Q16 stereo component speaker assembly connector.

    10. Measure the resistance between the stereo component amplifier assembly and the telematics transceiver to check for an open circuit in the wire harness (w/ Telematics Transceiver).

      • When there is a possibility that either the right or left front speaker is defective, inspect by interchanging the right one with the left one.

      • Perform the above inspection on both LH and RH sides.
