DESCRIPTION

If there is a short in a speaker circuit, the stereo component amplifier assembly detects the short and stops output to the speakers.

Thus sound cannot be heard from the speakers even if there is no malfunction in the stereo component amplifier assembly or speakers.

PROCEDURE


  1. Click here

    CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR


    1. Disconnect the H88 stereo component amplifier assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the L6 and M5 front No. 1 speaker assembly connectors.

    3. Disconnect the H63 and H62 front No. 2 speaker assembly connectors.

    4. Disconnect the O6 and N6 rear speaker assembly connectors.

    5. Disconnect the J2 front No. 3 speaker assembly connector.

    6. Disconnect the Q16 stereo component speaker assembly connector.

    7. Measure the resistance between the front No. 2 speaker assembly RH and the stereo component amplifier assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H88-13 (FR+) - H63-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      H88-28 (FR-) - H63-1 Always Below 1 Ω
    8. Measure the resistance between the front No. 2 speaker assembly LH and the stereo component amplifier assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H88-12 (FL+) - H62-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      H88-27 (FL-) - H62-2 Always Below 1 Ω
    9. Measure the resistance between each of the front No. 1 speaker assemblies and the stereo component amplifier assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H88-5 (WFR+) - L6-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      H88-20 (WFR-) - L6-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      H88-4 (WFL+) - M5-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      H88-19 (WFL-) - M5-2 Always Below 1 Ω
    10. Measure the resistance between the front No. 3 speaker assembly and the stereo component amplifier assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H88-7 (CTR+) - J2-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      H88-22 (CTR-) - J2-2 Always Below 1 Ω
    11. Measure the resistance between each of the rear speaker assemblies and the stereo component amplifier assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H88-15 (RR+) - N6-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      H88-30 (RR-) - N6-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      H88-14 (RL+) - O6-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      H88-29 (RL-) - O6-2 Always Below 1 Ω
    12. Measure the resistance between the stereo component speaker assembly and the stereo component amplifier assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H88-6 (WF1+) - Q16-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      H88-21 (WF1-) - Q16-2 Always Below 1 Ω
    13. Measure the resistance between the stereo component amplifier assembly and body ground to check for a short circuit in the wire harness.

      H88-13 (FR+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      H88-28 (FR-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      H88-12 (FL+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      H88-5 (WFR+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      H88-20 (WFR-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      H88-4 (WFL+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
