DESCRIPTION

If there is a short in a speaker circuit, the stereo component amplifier assembly detects it and stops output to the speakers.

Thus sound cannot be heard from the speakers even if there is no malfunction in the stereo component amplifier assembly or speakers.

PROCEDURE


  1. Click here

    CHECK SPEAKER (OPERATION CHECK)


    1. A00050B

      Enter the "System Check Mode" screen. Refer to Check Speaker in Operation Check (Click here).

    2. Perform the operation check above and determine the speaker that is not operating.

      Not Operating Speaker Proceed to
      Front No. 2 speaker assembly A
      Front No. 1 speaker assembly B
      Front No. 3 speaker assembly C
      Stereo component speaker assembly D
      Rear speaker assembly E
      Tip:

      If sound cannot be heard from any speaker, inspect all of them.

    CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY - FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the H88 stereo component amplifier assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the H63 and H62 front No. 2 speaker assembly connectors.

    3. Measure the resistance between the stereo component amplifier assembly and each of the front No. 2 speaker assemblies to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H88-13 (FR+) - H63-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      H88-28 (FR-) - H63-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      H88-12 (FL+) - H62-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      H88-27 (FL-) - H62-1 Always Below 1 Ω
    4. Measure the resistance between the stereo component amplifier assembly and body ground to check for a short circuit in the wire harness.

      H88-13 (FR+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      H88-28 (FR-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    1. Disconnect the H88 stereo component amplifier assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the L6 and M5 front No. 1 speaker assembly connectors.

    3. Measure the resistance between the stereo component amplifier assembly and each of the front No. 1 speaker assemblies to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.

      Standard Resistance

      H88-5 (WFR+) - L6-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      H88-20 (WFR-) - L6-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      H88-4 (WFL+) - M5-1 Always Below 1 Ω

    4. Measure the resistance between the stereo component amplifier assembly and body ground to check for a short circuit in the wire harness.

    3. Measure the resistance between the stereo component amplifier assembly and front No. 3 speaker assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.

    4. Measure the resistance between the stereo component amplifier assembly and body ground to check for a short circuit in the wire harness.

    3. Measure the resistance between the stereo component amplifier assembly and stereo component speaker assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.

    4. Measure the resistance between the stereo component amplifier assembly and body ground to check for a short circuit in the wire harness.

    2. Disconnect the N6 and O6 rear speaker assembly connectors.

    3. Measure the resistance between the stereo component amplifier assembly and each of the rear speaker assemblies to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.

    4. Measure the resistance between the stereo component amplifier assembly and body ground to check for a short circuit in the wire harness.
