DESCRIPTION

Different voltage values are sent to the multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU by operating the tilt and telescopic switch. The multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU then judges which motor and in which direction that motor should operate based on the voltage value.

PROCEDURE


  1. Click here

    READ VALUE USING GTS (TILT UP/DOWN SWITCH, TELESCOPIC SHORT/LONG SWITCH)


    1. A0005QGE12

      Turn the power switch off.

    2. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    3. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    4. Turn the GTS on.

    5. Check the tilt and telescopic switch.

    6. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Tilt & Telescopic / Data List.

    CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTIPLEX TILT AND TELESCOPIC ECU - TILT AND TELESCOPIC SWITCH)


    1. Disconnect the H12 multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the H20 tilt and telescopic switch connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H12-5 (VC) - H20-1 (VC) Always Below 1 Ω
      H12-18 (MSW) - H20-3 (MSW)
      H12-5 (VC) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      H12-18 (MSW) - Body ground

      REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    CHECK MULTIPLEX TILT AND TELESCOPIC ECU (VC TERMINAL VOLTAGE)

      Reconnect the H12 multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
