DESCRIPTION

This DTC will be stored if the power steering ECU assembly determines that the assist map is not written in the ECU.

Note


  • If the power steering ECU assembly has been replaced with a new one, perform assist map writing and torque sensor zero point calibration Click here.

  • If the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) is replaced, refer to Service Bulletin.

  1. PERFORM ASSIST MAP WRITING


    1. Perform assist map writing Click here.

    2. Check for DTCs Click here.

      DTC C1581 is not output. B

      Note

      DTC C1581 is cleared after the assist map is written.

  2. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM


    1. Check for DTCs (See page for with Central Gateway ECU, Click here for without Central Gateway ECU).

  3. CHECK RELATED PART (ECM, HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY, MAIN BODY ECU AND SKID CONTROL ECU)


    1. Check if any of the parts listed below have been replaced with an incorrect part in the past.

      Main body ECU (Multiplex network body ECU)
      Skid control ECU (Brake booster with master cylinder assembly)

      When removing a related part to check it, be sure to follow the appropriate procedures and precautions.

      Tech Tips


      • DTC C1581 is stored when a part with an incorrect part number is installed for the related parts listed above.

      • When DTC C1581 is output when parts have not been exchanged, replace the power steering ECU assembly as it may have an internal malfunction.
