DESCRIPTION

The No. 1 ion generator sub-assembly is controlled by the air conditioning amplifier assembly and operates in accordance with the blower with fan motor assembly. The air conditioning amplifier assembly sends a drive signal to the No. 1 ion generator sub-assembly. When the No. 1 ion generator sub-assembly receives the drive signal and starts to operate, it outputs an operation condition signal to the air conditioning amplifier assembly.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS


    1. Connector the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Air Conditioner / Active Test.

    5. Check the operation by referring to the table below.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 ION GENERATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the J3 No. 1 ion generator sub-assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      J3-5 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 ION GENERATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY - IG POWER SOURCE)


    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    1. Disconnect the H54 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      H54-26 (NAIN) - J3-1 (IG+) Always Below 1 Ω
      H54-15 (NANO) - J3-4 (PCL) Always Below 1 Ω

  5. REPLACE NO. 1 ION GENERATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Replace the No. 1 ion generator sub-assembly Click here.

      Tech Tips

      Since the No. 1 ion generator sub-assembly cannot be inspected while it is removed from the vehicle, replace the No. 1 ion generator sub-assembly with a new or known good one and check that the condition returns to normal.

    2. Check for DTCs.
