DESCRIPTION

The occupant detection sensor (separate type front seat cushion pad) detects if the passenger seat is occupied and sends signals to the combination meter assembly. The front seat inner belt assembly (front passenger seat) detects the front passenger seat belt condition and sends signals to the combination meter assembly. After receiving the signals from the occupant detection sensor (separate type front seat cushion pad) and front seat inner belt assembly (front passenger seat), the seat belt warning light on the combination meter assembly will blink or go off.

Tip:

The seat belt warning light on the combination meter assembly is used for both the driver seat and front passenger seat.

PROCEDURE


  1. Click here

    READ VALUE USING GTS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.

    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.

      ON: Front passenger seat belt unfastened

    CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - OCCUPANT DETECTION SENSOR (SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION PAD))


    1. Disconnect the H14 combination meter assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the W7*1 or X20*2 occupant detection sensor (separate type front seat cushion pad) connector.


      • *1: for LHD

      • *2: for RHD

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      H14-10 (PBKL) - W7-3 Always Below 1 Ω
      H14-10 (PBKL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    1. Disconnect the W15*1 or X16*2 front seat inner belt assembly (front passenger seat) connector.


      • *1: for LHD

      • *2: for RHD

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      W7-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
