SEAT BELT WARNING SYSTEM Front Passenger Side Seat Belt Warning Light Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The occupant detection sensor (separate type front seat cushion pad) detects if the passenger seat is occupied and sends signals to the combination meter assembly. The front seat inner belt assembly RH detects the front passenger seat belt condition and sends signals to the combination meter assembly. After receiving the signals from the occupant detection sensor (separate type front seat cushion pad) and front seat inner belt assembly RH, the seat belt warning light on the combination meter assembly will blink or go off.

Tech Tips

The seat belt warning light on the combination meter assembly is used for both the driver seat and front passenger seat.

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING GTS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.

    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.

      ON: Front passenger seat belt unfastened

      OFF: Front passenger seat belt fastened

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - OCCUPANT DETECTION SENSOR (SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION PAD))


    1. Disconnect the H14 combination meter assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the W7 occupant detection sensor (separate type front seat cushion pad) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H14-10 (PBKL) - W7-3 Always Below 1 Ω
      H14-10 (PBKL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (OCCUPANT DETECTION SENSOR (SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION PAD) - FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY RH)


    1. Disconnect the W15 front seat inner belt assembly RH connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      W7-1 - W15-3 Always Below 1 Ω
      W7-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY RH - BODY GROUND)


    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      W15-2 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
