PROCEDURE

1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (SRS AIRBAG)

   
   

   1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

   2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

   3. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / SRS Airbag / Trouble Codes.

   4. Check for DTCs.

      Result
      Result Proceed to Airbag system DTCs are not output. A Airbag system DTCs are output. B

   5. Turn the power switch off.

   GO TO DTC CHART (AIRBAG SYSTEM) Click here

2. CHECK AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY (CHECK WAVEFORM)

   
   

   1. Connect an oscilloscope between the airbag sensor assembly terminals specified in the table below.

   2. Turn the power switch on (READY).

   3.

      Measure the waveform.

      Equipment Setting	5V/DIV., 500ms/DIV.

   4. Turn the power switch off.

3. CLEAR DTC

   
   

   1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

   2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

   3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

   4. Clear the DTCs and freeze frame data.

   5. Turn the power switch off.

   
   

   NEXT

4. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL)

   
   

   1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

   2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

   3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

   4. Check for DTCs.

      Result
      Result Proceed to P3107-214 is not output. A P3107-214 is output again. B

   5. Turn the power switch off.

7. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR)

      Check the connector connections and contact pressure of the relevant terminals for the airbag sensor assembly connectors.

      OK
      The connectors are connected securely and there are no contact pressure problems.

8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY - AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY)

   
   

   1. Disconnect the H212 hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.

   2. Disconnect the H36 airbag sensor assembly connector.

   3. Turn the power switch on (IG).

   4. 

      Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition H212-14 (ABFS) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) Below 1 V

      Note

      Turning the power switch on (IG) with the airbag sensor assembly connector and the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.

   5. Turn the power switch off.

   6. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition H212-14 (ABFS) - H36-14 (GSW2) Power switch off Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition H212-14 (ABFS) or H36-14 (GSW2) - Body ground and other terminals Power switch off 10 kΩ or higher

   7. Reconnect the H36 airbag sensor assembly connector.

   8. Reconnect the H212 hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.

   
   

   NG

   REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

   OK

9. CHECK HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY

   
   
   1.

      *a	Component without harness connected (Airbag Sensor Assembly)

      Disconnect the H36 airbag sensor assembly connector.

   2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

   3.

      Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition H212-14 (ABFS) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

      Note

      Turning the power switch on (IG) with the airbag sensor assembly connector disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.

   4. Turn the power switch off.

   5. Reconnect the H36 airbag sensor assembly connector.
