DESCRIPTION

This DTC is output when the electronically controlled brake system has a problem. Check the electronically controlled brake system when this DTC is output.

P1578 When the dynamic radar cruise control system is operating, the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly receives a brake system error signal for 0.2 seconds or more.

  • Electronically controlled brake system

  • Skid control ECU (brake booster with master cylinder assembly)

  • Hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly

Tech Tips

This circuit uses CAN communication. Therefore, if there are any malfunctions in the communication circuit, one or more DTCs in the CAN communication system are output.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK FOR DTCs (ABS/VSC/TRC)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRC / Trouble Codes.

    5. Check for DTCs.

      Result
      Result Proceed to
      DTC is not output A
      DTC is output B

    6. Turn the power switch off.

  2. CHECK FOR DTCs (DTC P1578)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Make sure that the DTC detection conditions are met.

      Tech Tips

      If the detection conditions are not met, the system cannot detect the malfunction.

    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Radar Cruise1 / Trouble Codes.

    6. Check for DTCs.

      Result

    7. Turn the power switch off.

  3. REPLACE BRAKE BOOSTER WITH MASTER CYLINDER ASSEMBLY

  4. CHECK FOR DTCs (DTC P1578)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    5. Make sure that the DTC detection conditions are met.

    6. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Radar Cruise1 / Trouble Codes.

    7. Check for DTCs.
