DESCRIPTION

The driving support ECU assembly uses the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly to detect obstacles in front of the vehicle.

Based on this information, the driving support ECU assembly sends dynamic radar cruise control operation signals.

When the driving support ECU assembly receives information that there is a malfunction in the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly, DTC C1A10 is stored.

C1A10 While the vehicle speed is 36 km/h (or 22 mph) or more and the dynamic radar cruise control system is operating (vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode), driving support ECU assembly receives information that there is malfunction in millimeter wave radar sensor assembly for approximately 0.3 seconds or more.

Note


  • When replacing the driving support ECU assembly, always replace it with a new one. If a driving support ECU assembly which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in the driving support ECU assembly will not match the information from the vehicle. As a result, a DTC may be stored.

  • When the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly is replaced with a new one, adjustment of the radar sensor beam axis must be performed Click here.

  • First check the CAN communication system by following How to Proceed with Troubleshooting. After checking that there are no malfunctions in the CAN communication system, proceed with troubleshooting Click here.

  3. CHECK FOR DTCs (DTC C1A10)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    4. Make sure that the DTC detection conditions are met.

      Tech Tips

      If the detection conditions are not met, the system cannot detect the malfunction.

    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Radar Cruise2 / Trouble Codes.

    6. Check for DTCs.
