If the following conditions are detected while the cruise control system is controlling vehicle speed, the system clears the vehicle speed stored in the power management control ECU and cancels cruise control system control of vehicle speed.

Vehicle Condition Auto Cancel Condition Re-operation Condition

  • Cruise control indicator light goes out

  • A warning message "CHECK CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM" is displayed

  • "Pong" warning sound is heard

Open or short in stop light switch circuit Cruise control system is turned off and back on again using the cruise control switch (ON-OFF button).

  • Problem with stop light switch input circuit

  • Problem with cruise control switch cancel circuit

  • Malfunction in the electronically controlled brake system

  • Communication stop between skid control ECU and power management control ECU

Power switch is turned off and back to ON again.
Cruise control indicator light remains illuminated (Cruise control system control of vehicle speed is canceled)
  • Vehicle speed is lower than low speed limit (approximately 40 km/h (25 mph)) while driving with cruise control system controlling vehicle speed

  • VSC system operates while driving with cruise control system controlling vehicle speed

Cruise control switch is pushed to +/RES
Vehicle speed is lower than stored speed by approximately 16 km/h (10 mph) or more Cruise control switch is pushed to -/SET
Cruise control indicator light goes out Malfunction in the hybrid control system Cruise control system is turned off and back on again using the cruise control switch (ON-OFF button).
