CANISTER INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK CHARCOAL CANISTER


    1. Inspect the ventilation of the charcoal canister.

        Open the fuel tank cap, apply compressed air to port A and check that air flows out from port B.

        OK
        Air flows out from the port B.

    2. Inspect the check valve.

        Open the fuel tank cap, close port A and apply compressed air to port B.

        OK
        Air does not flow at first. By gradually increasing the pressure, air flows when the pressure in the port reaches the specified level.

        Open the fuel tank cap, close port A. Using a vacuum pump, apply vacuum to port B.

        OK
        The vacuum is maintained at first. By gradually increasing the vacuum, air flows and the vacuum decreases after the vacuum reaches the specified level.
