Tech Tips

Two types of HV battery are available for this vehicle. The type can be determined by checking for a No. 1 HV battery LH cover bracket.

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Click here

  2. REMOVE SERVICE PLUG GRIP

    Click here

  3. REMOVE CONNECTOR COVER ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  4. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE

    Click here

  5. INSTALL CONNECTOR COVER ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  6. REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  7. REMOVE ROOM PARTITION PANEL INSULATOR

  8. REMOVE NO. 4 HV BATTERY SHIELD PANEL

    CAUTION:

    Wear insulated gloves.

      *2 Battery Cover Lock Striker

      Using the service plug grip, remove the battery cover lock striker.

      Tech Tips

      Insert the projection part of the service plug grip, and turn the button of the battery cover lock striker counterclockwise to release the lock.

      Remove the bolt, 2 nuts and No. 4 HV battery shield panel.

  9. DISCONNECT FRAME WIRE

    CAUTION:

    Wear insulated gloves.

      Disengage the shielded wire ground from the No. 1 hybrid battery shield sub-assembly.

    2. Disconnect the 2 frame wire connectors.

      Note

      Insulate the disconnected connectors with insulating tape.

  10. REMOVE NO. 1 HYBRID BATTERY SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY

    CAUTION:

    Wear insulated gloves.

      Disconnect the HV battery junction block assembly connector and disengage the wire harness clamp.

    2. A00091T

      Remove the bolt, 3 nuts and No. 1 hybrid battery shield sub-assembly from the HV battery.

  11. REMOVE HV BATTERY JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY

    CAUTION:

    Wear insulated gloves.

        Pull back the HV battery clamp, disengage the claw and open the terminal cover as shown in the illustration.

        Tech Tips

        Pull back the HV battery clamp to the extent that the terminal cover can be opened.

        Using an insulated tool, remove the 2 bolts.

        Note

        Insulate the disconnected terminals with insulating tape.

        Disconnect the HV battery junction block assembly connector.

        Remove the 3 bolts, HV battery junction block assembly and HV battery clamp from the HV battery.

    2. w/o No. 1 HV Battery LH Cover Bracket:

        Disengage the claw and open the terminal cover.

      2. A00061R

        Using an insulated tool, remove the 2 bolts.

        Note

        Insulate the disconnected terminals with insulating tape.

        Disconnect the HV battery junction block assembly connector.

        Remove the 3 bolts and HV battery junction block assembly from the HV battery.
