LIGHTING SYSTEM Rear Fog Light Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) controls the rear fog light.

  • Inspect the fuses and bulbs for circuits related to this system before performing the following procedure.

  • Before replacing the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU), refer to Service Bulletin.*1

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK OPERATION (TAILLIGHTS)


    1. Check the operation of the taillights.

      OK
      Taillights operate normally.
      Result
      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    NG
    OK
  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.

    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR FOG LIGHT ASSEMBLY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY OR BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the P7 rear fog light assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the 3H instrument panel junction block assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P7-1 (B) - 3H-21 Always Below 1 Ω
      P7-1 (B) or 3H-21 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P7-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

  4. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly.

      for RHD: Click here

    2. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly.

    3. Connect a positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 3K-1.

    4. Connect a negative (-) lead from the battery to terminal MB-14 (TRLY) and MB-27 (RFGO).

    5. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
