LIGHTING SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK


  1. AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK


    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    2. Turn the light control switch to the AUTO position.

    3. Cover the automatic light control sensor.

    4. Check that the taillights and low beam headlights come on.

    5. Uncover the automatic light control sensor.

    6. Check that the low beam headlights and taillights go off.

  2. LIGHT AUTO TURN-OFF SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK (except Driver Door-linked Auto Light Turn-off System)


    1. When the light control switch is in the tail or head position


      1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

      2. Turn the headlights or front fog lights*1 on.

      3. Turn the ignition switch off.

      4. Check that the headlights and front fog lights*1 go off immediately.

        Tech Tips

        The taillights and rear fog light*2 remain on.

    2. When the light control switch is in the AUTO position


      1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

      2. Turn the taillights, headlights, front fog lights*1 or rear fog light*2 on.

      3. Turn the ignition switch off.

      4. Check that all of the lights go off immediately.


        • *1: w/ Front Fog Light

        • *2: w/ Rear Fog Light

  3. LIGHT AUTO TURN-OFF SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK (for Driver Door-linked Auto Light Turn-off System)


    1. Close all of the doors.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the headlights, front fog lights*1, rear fog light*2, taillights, clearance lights and license plate lights on.


      • *1: w/ Front Fog Light

      • *2: w/ Rear Fog Light

    4. Turn the ignition switch off.

    5. Open the driver door.

    6. Check that all of the lights go off immediately.

  4. LIGHT AUTO TURN-OFF SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK (w/ Delay Function)


    1. When the taillights are on (low beam headlights are not on)


      1. Close all of the doors.

      2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

      3. Turn the taillights on.

      4. Turn the ignition switch off.

      5. Open the driver door.

      6. Check that all of the lights go off immediately.

    2. When the low beam headlights are on


      1. Close all of the doors.

      2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

      3. Turn the low beam headlights on.

      4. Turn the ignition switch off.

      5. Open any of the doors.

      6. Close the door.

      7. Check that all of the lights go off after 30 seconds (delay function).

        Tech Tips

        Before the lights go off, if the lock button on the key is pushed after all of the doors are locked, all of the lights will go off immediately.

  5. DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK


    1. Turn the light control switch to the off* or AUTO position (with the taillights not turned on via the automatic light control system).


      • *: w/ Light Control Switch Off Position

    2. Start the engine.

    3. Release the parking brake.

    4. Check that the daytime running lights come on.

  6. FOLLOW ME HOME SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK (w/ Follow Me Home System)


    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Turn the light control switch to the AUTO or off* position.


      • *: w/ Light Control Switch Off Position

    3. Pull the light control switch to flash the headlights once.

    4. Check that the low beam headlights come on for approximately 30 seconds.

  7. DOOR MIRROR FOOT LIGHT CONTROL OPERATION CHECK (w/ Door Mirror Foot Light Control)


    1. The operation and condition of this control are described below.

      Operation Condition
      Fade in and illuminate constantly

      When any of the following conditions is met, the lights fade in and illuminate constantly:


      • A key is detected in the actuation area.*1

      • Any door is unlocked when the ignition switch is off and all of the doors are closed.

      Illuminate for 15 seconds, and then fade out

      When any of the following conditions is met, the lights illuminate for 15 seconds, and then fade out:


      • An actuation area-linked function is used.*1, *2

      • Any door is unlocked when the ignition switch is off and all of the doors are closed.

      Fade out immediately

      When the following condition is met, the lights fade out immediately:


      • The ignition switch is turned from off to ON.

      • A key is not detected in the actuation area.*1

      • All doors are locked when all doors are closed and any door is unlocked.


      • *1: w/ Entry and Start System

      Tech Tips

      *2: When the lights are on, if the key leaves the actuation areas around the doors, the lights fade out after approximately 3 seconds.
