FRONT WIPER MOTOR INSPECTION

Ensure that fingers or articles of clothing do not get caught in moving parts when performing this test.

  • Use the same procedure for LHD and RHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LHD vehicles.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY (for LHD)


    1. A001V2EC19
      *a

      Component without harness connected

      (Windshield Wiper Motor Assembly)

      Check the LO operation.


      1. Apply battery voltage to the windshield wiper motor connector and check the speed of the windshield wiper motor assembly.

        OK
        Measurement Condition Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 5 (+1)

        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 4 (E)

        		 Motor operates at low speed

    2. Check the HI operation.


      1. Apply battery voltage to the windshield wiper motor connector and check the speed of the windshield wiper motor assembly.

        OK
        Measurement Condition Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 3 (+2)

        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 4 (E)

        		 Motor operates at high speed

        If the result is not as specified, replace the windshield wiper motor assembly.

  2. INSPECT WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY (for RHD)


    1. A001V2EC20
      *a

      Component without harness connected

      (Windshield Wiper Motor Assembly)

      Check the LO operation.


      1. Apply battery voltage to the windshield wiper motor connector and check the speed of the windshield wiper motor assembly.

        OK
        Measurement Condition Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1 (+1)

        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 5 (E)

        		 Motor operates at low speed

    2. Check the HI operation.


      1. Apply battery voltage to the windshield wiper motor connector and check the speed of the windshield wiper motor assembly.

        OK
        Measurement Condition Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 4 (+2)

        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 5 (E)

        		 Motor operates at high speed

        If the result is not as specified, replace the windshield wiper motor assembly.
