CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization, or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed and installed, or replaced during the front seat outer belt assembly removal/installation are shown below.

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL


    CAUTION:


    • B00497C

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    • If an SRS part is accidentally deployed, it may cause a serious injury.

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE

  4. DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP


    1. Disconnect the front door opening trim weatherstrip.

  5. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE

  6. DISCONNECT REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP


    1. Disconnect the rear door opening trim weatherstrip.

  7. REMOVE LAP BELT OUTER ANCHOR COVER

      Disengage the claws and guide to remove the lap belt outer anchor cover as shown in the illustration.

  8. DISCONNECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY

      Remove the bolt to disconnect the floor anchor of the front seat outer belt assembly.

  11. REMOVE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY

      Remove the nut to disconnect the shoulder anchor of the front seat outer belt assembly.

        *a Protective Tape
        *b Locking Button

        Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, pull out the locking button to release the lock to disconnect the pretensioner connector as shown in the illustration.

        Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, pull out the locking button to release the lock to disconnect the pretensioner connector as shown in the illustration.

      Remove the bolt.

    5. Disengage the guides to remove the front seat outer belt assembly.

  12. REMOVE FRONT SHOULDER BELT ANCHOR ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 2 bolts.

    2. Disengage the guide to remove the front shoulder belt anchor adjuster assembly.
