DESCRIPTION

The combination meter assembly receives a text data signal from the radio and display receiver assembly via local bus communication.

Based on this signal, audio and visual system or navigation system information is displayed on the multi-information display.

This DTC is stored when the combination meter assembly cannot receive the signal.

Note

When replacing the combination meter assembly, always replace it with a new one. If a combination meter assembly which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in it will not match the information from the vehicle and a DTC may be stored.

  1. CHECK FOR DTC


    1. Check if audio and visual system DTCs are output.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the F4 combination meter assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the F50 radio and display receiver assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F4-37 (MSCL) - F50-4 (CNL1) Always Below 1 Ω
      F4-36 (MSCH) - F50-3 (CNH1) Always Below 1 Ω
      F4-37 (MSCL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F4-36 (MSCH) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  3. REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY


    1. Replace the combination meter assembly with a new or known good one.

      Click here

    2. Turn the ignition switch ON and wait 30 seconds.

      Note

      A maximum of 30 seconds is required to send/receive the registration information between the combination meter assembly and radio and display receiver assembly.

    3. Operate the steering pad switch assembly and check that the audio tab illuminates.

    4. Check for DTCs.
