LIGHTING SYSTEM Interior Light Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) controls the operation of the following lights:

Note


  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following procedure.

  • Before replacing the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU), refer to Service Bulletin*1.

Tech Tips

The DOME CUT relay supplies power to the interior lights. If all the lights that use power from the DOME CUT relay do not turn on, check the interior light auto cut circuit first.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.

    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.


      Body Electrical > Main Body > Active Test

      Illuminated Entry System Turns on the lights that are controlled by the illuminated entry system.* ON or OFF -

      • *: Refer to System Description for the lights that are controlled by the illuminated entry system.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY - NO. 1 ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY)


    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      R2-12(+B1) - R2-4 (RLMP) No. 1 room light switch in DOOR position Below 1 Ω
      No. 1 room light switch in ON position 10 kΩ or higher
      R2-12 (+B1) or R2-4 (RLMP) - Body ground No. 1 room light switch in DOOR position 10 kΩ or higher

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DOME CUT RELAY - MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY)


    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the 3D instrument panel junction block assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R2-10 (DOOR) - 3D-29 Always Below 1 Ω
      R2-10 (DOOR) or 3D-29 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  6. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly.


    2. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly.


    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
