PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. Check the resistance.

        Component without harness connected

        (Electric Parking Brake Switch Assembly)

        Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        6 (SWI1) - 5 (SW01) OFF (Release) 10 kΩ or higher
        ON (Lock) Below 1 Ω
        Switch not operated 10 kΩ or higher
        6 (SWI1) - 4 (SWI2) OFF (Release) Below 1 Ω
        ON (Lock) Below 1 Ω
        Switch not operated 10 kΩ or higher
        6 (SWI1) - 3 (SW02) OFF (Release) Below 1 Ω
        ON (Lock) 10 kΩ or higher
        Switch not operated Below 1 Ω
        4 (SWI2) - 5 (SW01) OFF (Release) 10 kΩ or higher
        ON (Lock) Below 1 Ω
        Switch not operated Below 1 Ω
        4 (SWI2) - 3 (SW02) OFF (Release) Below 1 Ω
        ON (Lock) 10 kΩ or higher
        Switch not operated 10 kΩ or higher

        If the result is not as specified, replace the electric parking brake switch assembly.

    2. Check the Illuminates.

        Component without harness connected

        (Electric Parking Brake Switch Assembly)

        Apply battery voltage to the electric parking brake switch assembly and check that the switch illuminates.

        OK
        Condition Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 7 (ILL+)

        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 1 (ILL-)

        Illuminates

        If the result is not as specified, replace the electric parking brake switch assembly.
