SHIFT LEVER INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL FLOOR SHIFT SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY (for RHD)

    A005PA8N02

    1. Temporarily install the floor shift shift lever assembly to the body with the 4 bolts.

    2. Fully tighten the 4 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      12 N*m  { 122 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }

    3. w/ Stereo Component Amplifier:


      1. Engage the 5 clamps to install the wire harness to the floor shift shift lever assembly.

      2. Connect the 2 connectors to the floor shift shift lever assembly.

    4. w/o Stereo Component Amplifier:


      1. Engage the 4 clamps to install the wire harness to the floor shift shift lever assembly.

      2. Connect the 2 connectors to the floor shift shift lever assembly.

  2. INSTALL FLOOR SHIFT SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY (for LHD)

    A005PYXN01

    1. Temporarily install the floor shift shift lever assembly to the body with the 4 bolts.

    2. Fully tighten the 4 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      12 N*m  { 122 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }

    3. Engage the 6 clamps to install the wire harness to the floor shift shift lever assembly.

    4. Connect the 2 connectors to the floor shift shift lever assembly.

  3. CONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY


    1. for TMMT Made:


      1. A005P4KC01
        B00497S Install in this Direction

        Connect the transmission control cable assembly to the shift lever assembly.

        Note

        Make sure that the transmission control cable assembly is securely locked.

      2. A005OPNC03
        B00497S Install in this Direction

        Connect the end of the transmission control cable assembly to the shift lever assembly.

        Note


        • Before connecting the transmission control cable assembly, check that the park/neutral position switch and shift lever are in N.

        • Install the end of the transmission control cable assembly so that the lock piece faces the driver side.

        • Install the end of the transmission control cable assembly all the way to the base of the pin.

    2. for TMC Made:


      1. A005PWFC01
        *1 Nut
        *2 Lock
        B00495X Rotate approximately 180°
        B0049DE Push in

        Rotate the nut of the transmission control cable assembly approximately 180° in the direction shown in the illustration, and while holding the nut in that position, push in the lock.

        Note

        Rotating the nut too much will damage the internal spring, and the transmission control cable assembly will not be reusable. Do not turn the nut too far.

        *1 Lock
        *a Protrusion
        B00497S Install in this Direction

        Install the transmission control cable assembly to the floor shift shift lever assembly.

        Note


        • Install the transmission control cable assembly with the protrusion facing upwards.

        • After installation, make sure that the lock is projecting from A as shown in the illustration.

        • Make sure that the transmission control cable assembly is securely locked.

      3. A005OCGC02
        B00497S Install in this Direction

        Confirm that the shift lever is in N, and then connect the end of the transmission control cable assembly to the floor shift shift lever assembly.

        Note


        • Securely install the end of the transmission control cable assembly to the floor shift shift lever assembly.

        • Install the end of the transmission control cable assembly so that its adjustment lock section is on the driver side.

  4. ADJUST SHIFT LEVER POSITION

  5. INSTALL NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX MOUNTING BRACKET


    1. w/ Stereo Component Amplifier:


      1. Install the No. 1 console box mounting bracket to the vehicle body with the 2 bolts.

      2. Engage the 3 clamps to install the wire harness to the No. 1 console box mounting bracket.

    2. w/o Stereo Component Amplifier:


      1. Install the No. 1 console box mounting bracket to the vehicle body with the 2 bolts.

      2. Engage the 2 clamps to install the wire harness to the No. 1 console box mounting bracket.

  6. INSTALL TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER (w/ Telematics Transceiver)

  7. INSTALL REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

  8. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY

  9. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER CAP


    1. Engage the 2 claws to install the shift lever cap to the instrument panel ornament.

  10. INSPECT SHIFT LEVER POSITION
