Note
Performing Reset Memory will clear the learned values of the yaw rate and acceleration sensor (Deceleration Sensor Zero Point Calibration) and the CVT oil pressure (CVT Oil Pressure Calibration). Make sure to perform Reset Memory, Deceleration Sensor Zero Point Calibration, and CVT Oil Pressure Calibration if any of the parts in the following table have been replaced.
Replaced Part
---
|
After performing Reset Memory, always perform Deceleration Sensor Zero Point Calibration first, and then CVT Oil Pressure Calibration.
PERFORM RESET MEMORY
Turn the ignition switch off.
Move the shift lever to P and apply the parking brake.
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Note
Do not start the engine.
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Transmission / Utility / Reset Memory.
Tester Display
---
Reset Memory
PERFORM DECELERATION SENSOR ZERO CALIBRATION
Turn the ignition switch to ON and wait at least 2 seconds.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Utility / Deceleration Sensor Zero Point Calibration.
Tester Display
---
Deceleration Sensor Zero Point Calibration
Note
Keep the vehicle stopped, level and stable during calibration (Inclination: 0 +/- 0.25°).
Tech Tips
When "Complete" is displayed on the screen, Deceleration Sensor Zero Point Calibration is complete.
If "Error" is displayed on the screen and DTC P158900 is output, there may be a malfunction in the airbag sensor assembly (yaw rate and acceleration sensor) circuit.
Shaking or vibrating the vehicle during Deceleration Sensor Zero Point Calibration may cancel calibration. If "Error" is displayed on the screen and DTC P158900 is not output, perform calibration again.
PERFORM CVT OIL PRESSURE CALIBRATION
Turn the ignition switch off and wait at least 30 seconds.
Turn the ignition switch to ON and wait at least 2 seconds.
Note
Do not start the engine.
Tech Tips
CVT Oil Pressure Sensor Zero Point Calibration is performed when the ignition switch is turned ON (engine stopped). However, CVT Oil Pressure Sensor Zero Point Calibration will not be performed under the following conditions:
Oil pressure sensor value is 0.065 MPa (0.663 kgf/cm2, 9.43 psi) or more.
CVT oil temperature is 0°C (32°F) or less or 120°C (248°F) or more.
Start the engine and wait at least 5 seconds.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Transmission / Utility / CVT Oil Pressure Calibration.
Tester Display
---
CVT Oil Pressure Calibration
Tech Tips
During CVT Oil Pressure Calibration, the engine idle speed will increase.
When "Complete" is displayed on the screen, CVT Oil Pressure Calibration is complete.
The learned values cannot be cleared by only disconnecting and reconnecting the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
ATF THERMAL DEGRADATION ESTIMATE RESET
Note
If either of the following conditions is met, perform ATF Thermal Degradation Estimate Reset.
The CVT fluid has been replaced.
Tech Tips
If 50000 or more is displayed for the Data List item "ATF Thermal Degradation Estimate", thermal degradation of the CVT fluid is suspected. Perform "ATF Thermal Degradation Estimate Reset" after replacing the CVT fluid.
Approximately 50% or more of the CVT fluid has been replaced during a repair of the transmission or a similar operation.
Turn the ignition switch off.
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Note
Do not start the engine.
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Transmission / Utility / ATF Thermal Degradation Estimate Reset.
Tester Display
---
ATF Thermal Degradation Estimate Reset
