DIFFERENTIAL OIL SEAL REPLACEMENT

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization, or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed, or replaced during the front drive shaft oil seal removal/installation are shown below.

Front wheel alignment adjustment

Perform the following procedures in the order shown:


  1. Clear zero point calibration data and store system information

  2. Perform yaw rate and acceleration sensor zero point calibration and store system information


  • VSC disabled or malfunctions

  • DTCs are stored

  • Slip indicator light illuminates

  • ABS warning light illuminates

  1. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for TMC Made)

  3. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL LH


    1. A001SUAN01

      Using SST, remove the front drive shaft oil seal LH from the manual transaxle assembly.

  4. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL RH


    1. A001WQIN01

      Using SST, remove the front drive shaft oil seal RH from the manual transaxle assembly.

  5. INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL LH


    1. A001XGGN01

      Coat the lip of a new front drive shaft oil seal LH with MP grease.

    2. Using SST and a hammer, tap in the front drive shaft oil seal LH to the manual transaxle assembly.

      Standard Depth
      10.6 to 11.6 mm (0.417 to 0.457 in.)

      Note

      Do not damage the front drive shaft oil seal LH lip.

  6. INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL RH


    1. A001Y49N01

      Coat the lip of a new front drive shaft oil seal RH with MP grease.

    2. Using SST and a hammer, tap in the front drive shaft oil seal RH to the manual transaxle assembly.

      1.2 to 2.2 mm (0.0472 to 0.0866 in.)

      Note

      Do not damage the front drive shaft oil seal RH lip.
