EXHAUST PIPE REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed and installed, or replaced during front exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Front and Rear Catalyst) and tail exhaust pipe assembly removal/installation are shown below.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR CENTER BRACE

  2. REMOVE TAIL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

    CAUTION:

    To prevent burns, do not touch the engine, exhaust pipe or other high temperature components while the engine is hot.


    1. A001WTV

      Remove the 2 bolts and 2 compression springs and disconnect the tail exhaust pipe assembly from the front exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Front and Rear Catalyst).

    2. Remove the tail exhaust pipe assembly from the 4 exhaust pipe supports.

    3. Remove the exhaust pipe gasket from the front exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Front and Rear Catalyst).

  3. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (TWC: Front and Rear Catalyst)

    CAUTION:

    To prevent burns, do not touch the engine, exhaust pipe or other high temperature components while the engine is hot.


    1. A001VLC

      Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connector.

    2. Disengage the wire harness clamp.

    3. A001YEA

      Remove the 2 bolts and 2 compression springs and disconnect the front exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Front and Rear Catalyst) from the exhaust manifold.

    4. Remove the front exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Front and Rear Catalyst) from the 2 exhaust pipe supports.

    5. Remove the exhaust pipe gasket from the exhaust manifold.

  4. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR
