PCV VALVE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT PCV VALVE (VENTILATION VALVE SUB-ASSEMBLY)


    1. A001U6P

      Remove the 2 nuts and air hole cover from the intake manifold.

    2. Install a clean hose to the check hole.

      *a Check Hole
      *b Hose
      *c Air

      Blow air into the hose, and check that air passes through with difficulty.


      1. A001W16C02
        *a Check Hole
        *b Hose
        *c Vacuum Pump

        Using a vacuum pump, apply vacuum to the check hole.

        OK
        The vacuum is maintained at first. By gradually increasing the vacuum, air flows and the vacuum decreases after the vacuum reaches a certain level.

    4. Remove the hose from the check hole.

    5. Install the air hole cover to the intake manifold with the 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      9.0 N*m  { 92 kgf*cm, 80 in.*lbf }

    6. Check that the no vacuum leaks at the air hole cover.
