HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization, or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed, or replaced during the heated oxygen sensor removal/installation are shown below.

CAUTION:


  • A005OO6

    When the engine is hot, do not touch high-temperature areas such as the engine or exhaust pipe.

  • Touching high-temperature areas such as the engine and exhaust pipe could result in burns.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (TWC: Rear Catalyst)


  2. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR


    1. for 2WD:


      1. A001TWD

        Disengage the wire harness clamp.

      2. Remove the wire harness clamp bracket from the heated oxygen sensor.

      3. A001TKBN01

        Using SST, remove the heated oxygen sensor from the front exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst).

        Note

        If the heated oxygen sensor has been struck or dropped, replace it.

    2. for AWD:


      1. A001U3M

        Disengage the wire harness clamp.

      2. Remove the wire harness clamp bracket from the heated oxygen sensor.

      3. A001XDKN01

        Using SST, remove the heated oxygen sensor from the front exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst).
